  • AC current oscillates at a certain frequency, different countries have different oscillating frequencies. The US for example operates on 60Hz frequency while most of Europe including UK and Germany operate on 50Hz.
  • Most modern equipment, especially portable equipment can handle either 50Hz or 60 Hz, however many household electrical products and industrial equipment are designed to operate at a certain frequency.
